🥖 Ham & Hot Honey Baguette

🥖 Ham & Hot Honey Baguette

Some days the best food is the simplest stuff. No complicated prep, no fancy techniques, just quality ingredients that work together.

This Ham Off the Bone Baguette with Burrata, Spring Onion and Hot Honey is exactly that. Salty shaved ham, creamy burrata, fresh crunch from lettuce and spring onions, finished with chilli flakes and hot honey for that perfect sweet heat.

It’s the kind of sandwich you make when you're hungry, want something quick, but still want it to taste unreal.

Trust me, this one punches well above its weight.

Ingredients

  • 1 full baguette roll

  • 150–200g shaved ham off the bone

  • 1 fresh burrata ball

  • 1 handful crisp lettuce leaves (cos or butter lettuce works well)

  • 2–3 whole spring onions

  • Salt

  • Fresh cracked black pepper

  • Chilli flakes

  • Hot honey (to taste)

Method

1. Prepare the baguette

Slice the baguette roll lengthways but keep it hinged so it opens like a sandwich.

2. Lay the base

Add the lettuce leaves to the bottom of the roll. This helps keep the bread from soaking up too much moisture and adds a nice fresh crunch.

3. Add the ham

Pile the shaved ham off the bone generously over the lettuce. Let it fold naturally, those layers give the sandwich texture and make every bite better.

4. Spring onions

Trim the ends of the spring onions and place them whole across the ham.
If they’re on the thicker side, you can slice them lengthways.

5. Burrata

Tear the burrata open and gently spread it over the ham and spring onions so the creamy centre runs through the sandwich.

6. Season

Add a light sprinkle of salt, a good crack of black pepper and a generous pinch of chilli flakes.

7. Finish with hot honey

Drizzle hot honey across the burrata and ham so it melts into everything.

8. Close and serve

Close the baguette, press lightly, slice if you want, and serve immediately.

Volk’s Hot Tip

If you want to take this up another level, lightly toast the baguette in the oven for a couple of minutes before assembling.

Warm bread, cold burrata and hot honey together is unreal.
